Each year, we joyfully celebrate Jubilee, a special season to honor sisters who have reached a milestone anniversary of their first profession. During Jubilee, fellow sisters, family, friends and all those who share a connection to the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND), rejoice with our Jubilarians as they are recognized for 25, 40, 50, 60, 70, 75 and 80 years of faithful love and service to God.

Throughout the year and across the province, Jubilarians will be appreciated and celebrated with gratitude for the many ways they have shared their gifts as women religious with their congregation and communities. Along with celebratory Masses and events, the Jubilarians will also renew their vows as a demonstration of their ongoing commitment to religious life. In this year’s class of Jubilarians, there are sisters who have served, and continue to serve, as healthcare workers and homemakers, artists and musicians, administrators and pastoral ministers, and of course, talented and dedicated educators. Some sisters have ministered almost exclusively in their hometown or home state, while others have ventured across the country and even across the globe.

Every year, Jubilarians unite under a unique theme and piece of artwork which inspires their celebration. The 2025 Jubilee theme is built around an original painting by Sister Mary Anne Schaenzer, one of the 60-year Jubilarians. Painted as an expression of prayer and encircled by the words “God’s Enduring Love – Gratitude – Joy – Faithfulness,” the artwork and theme calls each Jubilarian to discover what the Spirit is saying to them.

The colors were all purposefully selected with meaning:

The white and gold represent our sincere search and God’s presence in the search.
The green represents our connection to nature, growth and transformation.
The red represents love and the cross.
The bronze represents that we are grounded in God.
