Justice Anne K. McKeig, Minnesota Supreme Court Justice
“I’m Just a Girl from Federal Dam - Pathways to Leadership”
The Honorable Anne K. McKeig joined the Minnesota Supreme Court on September 1, 2016. She is the first American Indian appointed to the state’s highest court.
Justice McKeig previously served as an assistant Hennepin County Attorney and District Court Judge. She has worked on several committees focusing on child welfare and domestic violence issues. She also taught as an adjunct professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and has spoken at numerous conferences regarding child protection and tribal community issues.
A descendant of the White Earth Nation, Justice McKeig is a native of Northern Minnesota. Justice McKeig is married and has five children.
