Blessed Theresa Appeal 2024 - St. Louis

We invite you to celebrate the Feast Day of Blessed Theresa of Jesus Gerhardinger on May 9th, as we recognize that the mission of Jesus guides our sisters to serve in unique and creative ways throughout their entire lives.

Currently, there are 70 sisters living at Sancta Maria in Ripa, creating a community alive with opportunity for ministry. Throughout the year, there are hundreds of sisters and associates from around the country that use this space for provincial meetings, celebrations, and spiritual enrichment.

There is an urgent need to repair the boiler this spring to keep the sisters living at Sancta Maria safe and warm. Additional repairs are needed by late summer. The cost of the repairs is estimated to be $70,000.

A few of the ways the sisters serve in ministry at Sancta Maria are:

• The Community Gardens where the sisters grow their own food for the Sancta Maria community.
• Liturgical Fabric Arts, which started in 1898, creates vestments, banners and alter linens to enhance the interior of places of worship.
• The Nun Buddy Program at Notre Dame High School that pairs high school students with a sister.
• Community Prayer, where sisters pray in the chapel and in small groups with others in the community.
