Blessed Theresa Appeal 2024 - Mankato

We invite you to celebrate the Feast Day of Blessed Theresa of Jesus Gerhardinger on May 9th, as we recognize that the mission of Jesus guides our sisters to serve in unique and creative ways throughout their entire lives.

For example, the move to the Benedictine Living Community (BLC) brought blessings and new beginnings for both the lay residents and sisters. A resident, Sylvia Hewett Hoehn, shared, “The sisters are an asset to our living environment. When I meet them in the hallway, they are friendly. I enjoy praying the rosary with the sisters.”

The families of lay residents have also expressed their appreciation for the companionship and spiritual care sisters provide for their aging loved ones. A resident’s son called to ask if a sister could accompany his mother to services in the chapel; Sister Cerella Baumgartner eagerly volunteered and embraced the family in prayer.

Dorothy Van Hyfte, a resident, also enjoys the spiritual guidance, “The sisters raise our level of worship and add an educational point of view to many of the things we do here.”

All of us have been directly touched by the prayers, presence and ministries of the sisters.

We come to you to ask for financial support. The need is significant for the sisters in their retirement as they continue to mentor others and provide spiritual guidance just as our foundress Blessed Theresa did throughout her life.
