Featured Speaker:The Honorable Anne-Marie Clark

Anne-Marie Clarke served as a hearing officer from January 1986 until her appointment as Family Court Commissioner for the 22nd Judicial Circuit Court Oct. 1, 1998. She was the first black woman appointed to the Board of Police Commissioners for St. Louis City in April 1993, serving as president before resigning in September 1998. She created the city’s first truancy court and established a review docket for juveniles placed on probation.

A graduate of Rosati-Kain High School in St. Louis, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Northwest Missouri State University. She received her Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law.

Awards include the Jordan-McNeal Award from the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus, the Outstanding Service Award from the Bertha Black Rhoda Section of the National Council of Negro Women, a Woman of Distinction Award from the Top Ladies of Distinction (St. Louis, Mo.), a Volunteer Lawyers Service Award from Legal Services of Eastern Missouri and a Distinguished Citizen Award from the St. Louis Argus Newspaper.

She is the daughter of the late Thomas P. Clarke, an attorney who practiced for many years at Legal Services for Eastern Missouri ("Legal Aid") and retired registered nurse Mary V. Clarke. She is a charter member of the Saint Louis Metropolitan Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
