Recognizing our 2025 Jubilarians |
Join with School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) as we recognize our 2025 class of Jubilarians. Jubilee is a special celebration of the 25, 40, 50, 60, 70, 75 and 80 year milestone anniversaries that commemorate a sister’s first profession.
In 2025, the Central Pacific Province will honor 70 sisters. Over the course of the year, there will be celebratory events to mark this special occasion and the many contributions of these sisters as vowed religious women. You may discover a sister you had as a teacher or who is active in your community on our list of Jubilarians! Whether you know them personally or not, we invite you to read the engaging profiles of our Jubilarians and join us in offering our sincere appreciation and congratulations.

Sister Barbara Brumleve shines a light on the SSND story, one week at a time |
“God, take us to where you want us to be. Help us to ask the questions you want us to ask and meet the people we most need to meet.” This is the prayer that Sister Barbara Brumleve and her then research partner, Sister Marjorie Myers, would say each day while on a three-year journey to capture and catalog the stories and resources of School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND).
From that successful project in the early 80’s and enlivened by a unique understanding of the rich and far-reaching history of SSND, Sister Barbara is now taking on a new story-telling initiative. Starting eight months ago, each week, she researches and writes a new article under the series title “This is Our Story.” From week to week, the stories may be uplifting or tragic, current or beyond memory, of names familiar or lesser known, but they are all part of an engaging and inspiring SSND legacy.

The celebration was held at the Generalate Chapel in Rome, Italy. Among the new sisters, Novice Satomi Nishiwaki is part of our Central Pacific Province. Based in Japan, she is now called Sister Mary Grace. Warmest congratulations and welcome to all.
