New affiliated ministry

The newest School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) affiliated ministry is Catholic Central High School (CCHS), in Burlington, Wisconsin. CCHS became an affiliated ministry in January 2021. The high school is dedicated to providing a Catholic education through the teachings of Jesus Christ, while offering respect to all faiths. CCHS develops students’ abilities and creative talents through a diverse, family-like community built on faith, knowledge and tradition.

Seeking abolition of nuclear weapons

The School Sisters of Notre Dame joined 155 global faith communities in a joint statement welcoming the United Nations Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. The joint statement stated, “The Treaty addresses the disproportionate impact of nuclear weapons on women and indigenous peoples and the importance of victim assistance and healing environmental harms in a groundbreaking way.”

A passion for mission ministries

From the time Sister Jeanne Goessling joined the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) in 1970, she was always interested in mission ministries. Today, SSND work as missionaries in Africa to not only plant the faith, but also assist in growing the faith. At the age of 69, Sister Jeanne continues that tradition by nurturing the faith of those around her in Kisumu, Kenya.
