Central Pacific Provincial and Councilor visit
Notre High School in Guam
Talofofo, Guam – Sister Mary Anne Owens, provincial leader and Sister María Elena Ferrer-López, provincial councilor from the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) Central Pacific Province, visited Notre Dame High School in Talofofo, Guam on August 16, 2013.
Notre Dame High School was established for girls in 1968 by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. The school became co-educational in 1995. The 30-acre campus has 28 air-conditioned classrooms, a media resource center, library, biology and chemistry labs, cafeteria and gymnasium. Notre Dame High School, Inc. is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
As an SSND sponsored ministry, Notre Dame High School engages in “the mutually beneficial and dynamic relationship between the congregation and an organization in which the SSND charism and educational vision are defining characteristics of the organization.”
Notre Dame High School appreciates these visits to Guam as the Council members reaffirm the School Sisters’ commitment “to education that leads to the transformation of persons and to reconciliation in our world today.”
